Academic Programs
Academics
Our academic mission is to prepare students to serve Christ, his church, and the academy through theology that is biblically grounded, confessionally Reformed, experientially vibrant, and practically focused.

"The learning gained in research and courses finds its rightful expression in praise to God and love for others."
Feature Section
Theological Education that Shapes Holistically
We aim to instill in each student the importance of living all of life for the glory of our great God. We endeavor to train the head with knowledge, stir the heart with living faith, and train the hands with what is our reasonable service—a life wholly devoted to God.

Rigorous Curriculum
In our curriculum, we uniquely blend the doctrinal standards of both the English Puritan (Westminster) and Continental Reformed (Three Forms of Unity) traditions.
Experienced Global Faculty
Our faculty members have been trained domestically and internationally, offering world-class expertise from institutions such as the University of Bonn, the University of Edinburgh, the University of Groningen, the University of Utrecht, the Theological University of Apeldoorn, Westminster Theological Seminary, Calvin Theological Seminary, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Princeton Theological Seminary, and Yale University.
Extensive Research Opportunities
We provide global access to the William Perkins Library and specialized research centers. The Puritan Research Center offers North America's largest collection of Puritan writings and hundreds of rare Continental Reformed works.
How It Works
Pathways to Service
Our academic process is designed for clarity, accessibility, and personal spiritual growth.
Competency-Based Structure
Programs like the MDiv use both academic assessment and Competency-Based Theological Education (CBTE) models, seeking to develop students in academics, pastoral care, and personal spiritual growth.
Global Accessibility
We remove language barriers by offering our MA in multiple languages (including Arabic, Chinese, French, Portuguese, and Spanish), and students can pursue the degree in a variety of flexible delivery models.
Rigorous Assessment
Every student is evaluated on both academics and character, ensuring they are prepared for the multifaceted nature of ministry.
Grading with a Purpose
Academic performance is a means to an end as we seek to prepare students for the “promotion and defense of the gospel.”
Team Section
Academic Guidance
Our academic leadership functions as a bridge between the classroom and the church. The faculty are mentors who walk alongside of students.

In all aspects—course lectures, required readings, research, and school-wide prayer meetings—my experience at PRTS has been both devotional and intellectually enriching. The professors and staff deeply love the Lord and are personally invested in the students’ spiritual, personal, and academic growth.
